Azure Local adds NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 GPUs for sovereign and edge AI, separate from Fairwater
Microsoft's on-premises Azure Local offering added NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs for sovereign AI and visual computing, generally available in release 2603 on Dell, HPE and Lenovo servers. This workstation-class GPU is separate from the rack-scale Blackwell and Rubin systems at Azure's Fairwater sites. At the time, no Microsoft or NVIDIA source confirmed Rubin support on Azure Local; Microsoft later confirmed initial support in March 2026.
