SoftBank launches Japan sovereign AI GPU cloud on NVIDIA GB200 NVL72/Blackwell
SoftBank Corp. is launching an "AI Data Center GPU Cloud" in Japan (commercial availability October 2026) built on NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 systems and Blackwell GPUs interconnected via NVLink, combined with SoftBank's own "Infrinia AI Cloud OS." The service targets Japanese customers facing restrictions on transferring data overseas, hosting NVIDIA-powered AI infrastructure and operations entirely within Japan. This is part of a broader NVIDIA-SoftBank collaboration to accelerate Japan's sovereign AI buildout, including SoftBank building what NVIDIA describes as Japan's most powerful AI supercomputer using Blackwell.
