OpenAI and NVIDIA announce strategic partnership to deploy 10 gigawatts of NVIDIA systems

NVIDIA and OpenAI announced a letter of intent on September 22, 2025 for NVIDIA to deploy at least 10 gigawatts of NVIDIA systems for OpenAI's next-generation AI infrastructure, with NVIDIA intending to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI as the systems are deployed; the first phase is targeted for H2 2026 on the Vera Rubin platform. A related, separate arrangement announced August 17, 2026 has NVIDIA backing up to $105 billion in financing for an OpenAI data center in Ohio.
