NVIDIA DGX Cloud natively integrated with Microsoft Fabric -- a software/data-platform relationship distinct from Azure ND GPU VM infrastructure
At NVIDIA GTC (March 2024), Microsoft and NVIDIA jointly announced that NVIDIA DGX Cloud is natively integrated with Microsoft Fabric, letting NVIDIA's workload-optimized runtimes, LLMs, and machine-learning tools work directly with Fabric OneLake as the underlying data store for custom AI model development (e.g., digital twins, weather forecasting) on customers' own data. This is a distinct relationship from Azure's ND-series GPU VM infrastructure (the hardware layer): DGX Cloud/Fabric is a managed AI-development and data-platform integration, not a hyperscale GPU deployment. By mid-2026, Microsoft reported NVIDIA-accelerated computing built into Fabric Data Warehouse delivering up to 6x faster SQL execution versus CPU-only baselines in internal benchmarking.
